CD business cards are something I ran across while researching CD duplication. Very obviously if you have one you’re going to need more, so I feel justified in telling you about them. They’re shaped in a rectangle, like a business card, but there’s a CD in it! (Does this impress me because I’m old?)

How’s That Again?

That’s right, a CD business card. At first glance it looks like something from outer space. This is an 80mm disk that has a storage capacity of up to 100MB. As with regular paper business cards you can order these complete with plastic sleeves, fancy cases, or in their own little mailers. The possibilities for art work (done by graphic designers, of course) on these are unlimited. The artwork on the card can be incorporated into the artwork on the CD, creating a complete picture. When you hand someone this business card you’re not just handing them your name, title and phone number. This business card is the whole package; it contains the usual (just mentioned) but also can include your catalog, your video and your website.

To b-card or Not To b-card

That’s the question. Pricing on these babies depends on how long you can wait and how many you order. An example of a price list quoted 500 cards (14 day wait) @ $1.44/card. I would so totally pay that for something this awesome! Need more; 10,000 (14 day wait) takes you to the ridiculously low price of $.56/card. They’re practically giving them away. Obviously, shorter waiting times, as well as fewer cards, will raise the price; but, seriously, not appallingly.
I’m not that easily fazed but, this is something that were it handed to me would impress me immediately. How could you not be?
