The Reason Certain Rings Makes Your Skin Turn Green

Have you ever had engagement rings or a necklace that makes your skin yellow I’m sure you’ve wondered what the cause is. Usually ; there is a reaction caused by the metal in the jewelry to people who wears cheap jewelry. It happens to some faster than others; though, because everyone’s skin is different.

Even jewelry you pay more for can have the same effect; because it’s not one hundred percent pure- no matter how much it costs. Platinum is one metal that usually doesn’t react with skin so you shouldn’t have to worry if you buy platinum jewelry.
To try to stop gold jewelry from making your skin green confirm that its authentic and not gold plated or gold rinsed jewelry – the base metal might be cheap and then covered with gold that will wear off. For jewelry made from solid gold switching to eighteen karat options will help keep green spots from showing up on your skin. Copper jewelry will almost always turn your skin green and theres really nothing to be done.

Avoid sweating in your jewelry because that can speed up the reaction between your skin and the metal you can also get a special coating put on – to keep your skin from reacting. If you do this you can wear inexpensive jewelry whenever you want. Just remember<, the green discoloration isn’t harmful. It’s a chemical skin reaction and not an allergy.
Metal allergic reactions causes reddening and also will make your skin inflamed and itchy. Which is a far cry from the green skin that you see from jewelry.
so make sure if you notice an allergy developing that you stop wearing your jewelry right away. If all you have is green skin you are safe to keep wearing the jewelry you’ll just have to keep the area clean so it doesn’t look bad.

Truth be told coating it is usually the best option.

I have sensitive skin, and I always wondered about this problem. Apparently, it is often the metal alloyed with a precious metal that causes an allergic reaction (nickel being one such culprit). As this article points out, platinum doesn’t cause allergic reactions since it’s so pure and isn’t alloyed with metals that cause reactions.
